*B. Yearout was my biological grandfather. However, my mom's stepdad, James Fitzgearlds, was the man I've always called "grandad". Sometimes I even forget that we're not blood relatives. And to me, as the family historian, those relationships are more important than DNA. Grandad did his own genealogical research a few decades ago and I inherited his notes and photographs. Soon I'd like to start publishing his work on a separate website.

But the last thing I want to do make any of my cousins feel uncomfortable. This should not be an issue, as the purpose of the page is to record family history. But for the sake of clearing up any confusion: both of my parents have siblings, as do I. None of us are only children. It's just that those people will not be listed here.
